It's June 25 already... halfway through the year... sigh... but what's the alternative?!
Anyway, a good show today with a wide variety of styles presented. It also featured the most number of tracks played (12) in quite some time; normally, I play eight or nine per 60 minute program, occasionally one or two more. I'm sure I've played more than 12 before but not for a long while.
Oh, and everything played today was newly-released.

First show back after two weeks away. This was a good one, I thought, with a mix of old and new and of styles. There was oddball jazz-funk (Steve Coleman and Five Elements), straight-ahead soul-jazz (Jerry Weldon), jazz quartet meets string quartet (Peter Madsen's Seven Sins Ensemble), and more.
The next Breaking The Tethers program will be on Monday, June 25, 10-11 am MT, 90.9 FM,
cjsw.com. I might make this an all-new show; I've got quite the pile (literally and figuratively) of new music on deck that I want to share.
