February 20, 2023

The main event this week was another interview, this time with Avi Granite, guitarist, composer, and leader of the band, Avi Granite 6, who have a new album, Operator, coming out (on Friday) and are embarking on a western Canadian tour. Many thanks to Avi for joining us and chatting.

Music-wise, there was a nice mix, maybe more straight-ahead than usual.

The whole show is available for you to listen to here.

No interview next week, just a bunch of good music. Tune in with me on Monday, February 27, from 10 to 11 am MT, at cjsw.com or 90.9 FM.

Thanks.

Andrew

Had another interview this week, with Canadian musician (trombone player) William Carn, who has a new album out, Choices.  Many thanks to William for joining Breaking The Tethers today.

On the music side of things, there were some pretty nifty songs played. My fave was “Decisions have already been made” by East Axis, a new release. It’s always good to hear some crazy jazz, which this was.

The interview trend continues next week. Avi Granite, leader of the Avi Granite 6, will be calling into BTT to chat about his new album, Operator, and the band’s 2023 tour dates. And, as always, good music will be played!  Tune in on Monday, February 20 from 10 to 11 am MT at cjsw.com or 90.9 FM.

Thanks.

Andrew

I've talked about this before but sometimes shows just fall together nicely. This was one of those programs. Everything flowed nicely and the songs (nothing too far out and nothing too far in this week) fit together well. You can listen to the podcast of the show here.

Breaking The Tethers will be back on Monday, February 13, 10 to 11 am MT, cjsw.com or 90.9 FM. There'll be good music played, as per usual, but there will also be a guest interview. I'll be talking with trombonist William Carn about his work, including his new album.

Thanks.

Andrew
