December 12, 2022

This was an all-21st century show, with the oldest item coming from way back in time, 2011. Here's a few of my faves from the program:

"Children of Flint" by the Vijay Iyer Trio. I haven't anything from Vijay for a fair amount of time. Nice to get his music back on air.

"Shadows" by Bill Brennan. A short, slightly spooky mallet instrument piece.

"Boomerang" by Miriodor. Quirky prog-jazz. Or jazz-prog.

"You want it darker" by Iggy Pop. Iggy covers Lenny, to great effect.

You can take in the recording of this show here.

There's still two editions of Breaking The Tethers left for December 2022 (though the month seems to be going very quickly). The penultimate show of the month and the year will be on Monday, December 19, at cjsw.com or 90.9 FM, 10 to 11 am MT. For the most part, it'll be the usual BTT thing but I will be injecting a little bit of Christmas oddness into the proceedings.

Thanks.

Andrew
