Perhaps the main feature of this week's show was the fact I played a 20-minute tune. I haven't played anything this long for a while, for some reason. I suppose as I have just a one-hour program I somewhat subconsciously play shorter songs, just to get more things played in 60 minutes.
This week's long track, "Eli's song" by Harry Miller's Isipingo from the album Which way now, has an interesting connection to Breaking The Tethers. Not long after I first went on air (in July 2006), I played a track from this record, which was a new release at the time (though recorded live in 1975). I'm not sure what track I played then; it may have been "Eli's song" (I lost some data from that time). Anyway, it nice to return to this record, albeit 14 years later.
We're into August for the next BTT show! Hang with me on Monday, August 3 (a holiday for many folks), from 10-11 am MT at 90.9 FM or cjsw.com.
Thanks.
