Once again, today's edition of Breaking The Tethers was an "all new" show, featuring newly-released material. There was just too much new stuff on my plate to do anything different.
There were a few trends in today's program. On one hand, a number of tracks definitely came from the experimental side of town (e.g. Zach Cooper; Of Sound, Mind and Body). On the other hand, I played a few modern-sounding, fairly straight-ahead tunes that were performed by medium-sized (leaning to large) groups (e.g. Snarky Puppy; Andy Jaffe Nonet; Stryker/Slagle Band). Electric guitar also made prominent apperances (e.g. Rez Abbasi & Junction; Alex Goodman). We'll see what crops up next week.
Speaking of next week (June 13, 10-11 am MT), I suspect it might end up being a "new" show as well. But, again, we'll see.
